Job summary

Job description

As an Advanced Practitioner you will be part of a wider resourceful team, sharing a passion for providing young people with the best possible outcomes in life. You will make the most of your social work and specialist experience by holding, directing and supporting a team of Intensive Support workers and specialist workers, taking a lead in the development of their practice. Within the role you will have an oversight of delivering effective coordinated evidence‑based support and interventions to young people and their families/carers.

Stockport Families First (Edge of Care) service keeps children and young people at the heart of all their work, we listen, respond and value the families and communities that we support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hold, direct and support a team of Intensive Support workers and specialist workers.
  • Take a lead in the development of the team’s practice.
  • Oversee the delivery of effective coordinated, evidence‑based support and interventions to young people and their families/carers.
  • Combine direct practice with service and professional development.
  • Work with families in their homes to help them stay together and keep children at home with their families.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Relevant social work and specialist experience.
  • Will be subject to satisfactory pre‑employment clearances, including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
  • Applicants who have completed the GM Elevate (Leadership Development) Programme should indicate this in the application.
