Overview

At North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, we have the opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacist to join our workforce. This static post, based at Peterborough City Hospital, offers the opportunity to further develop clinical skills across a wide range of specialties within the Woman and Child area, including general paediatrics, paediatric oncology, paediatric rheumatology, paediatric high-dependency, neonatal intensive care, antenatal and postnatal obstetrics, gynaecology and breast care. The role is predominantly ward-based, working with the Principal Pharmacist to lead and develop clinical services as part of a small, well-established Pharmacy team, and to train staff rotating through the area. You will also be involved in the development of guidelines, policies, PGDs and formulary reviews, ensuring appropriate use of high-cost drugs, and training of pharmacy staff, nursing, midwifery and medical staff.

Main duties
  • Work to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Core Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum.
  • Take professional responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to the designated (CBU) / Specialty area and associated clinical areas and wards to meet their goals.
  • Act as line manager as shown in the organisational structure chart.
  • Provide expert clinical and service information to the pharmacy senior management team to support departmental operational service development and strategic planning.
  • RPS - Core Advanced curriculum
  • In March 2023, Health Education England agreed this RPS curriculum as equivalent to their Multiprofessional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice.

Essential

  • Education and Qualifications
    • Educated to Degree or Masters level in Pharmacy
    • Registered Pharmacist (GPhC)

Desirable

  • Leadership / Management qualification relevant to the NHS or equivalent management qualification or experience
