Overview

Role: Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) – CAS Triage (on-site)

Location: CAS Triage (on-site) • Contract Type: Locum • Shift Pattern: Evenings and Overnights 20:00 - 08:00

We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) to join our team within a busy CAS Triage Service. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals presenting with a wide range of urgent and unscheduled health needs. This role requires strong clinical decision-making skills, autonomous practice, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a variety of urgent and unscheduled conditions.
  • Undertake clinical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and initiate appropriate treatments.
  • Prescribe medication safely and appropriately (V300 qualification required).
  • Provide care to patients of all ages with both minor injuries and minor illnesses.
  • Make onward referrals to secondary care or community services where appropriate.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in patient records in line with clinical governance and confidentiality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe and effective care.
  • Contribute to service efficiency by helping to reduce pressure on emergency departments and support patient flow.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN.
  • Masters degree or equivalent in Advanced Clinical Practice.
  • Independent Prescriber (V300).
  • Proven experience working as an ANP in urgent care, primary care, or emergency settings.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
