Job description
Responsibilities
  • Lead the team to deliver high quality care to our young people
  • Ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with the team regarding the plans for the day
  • Review the young people's care plans and other associated documentation
  • Undertake an in-depth quality and bespoke training package
  • Attend/chair staff meetings and be proactive in developing and improving the service model
  • Act as an advocate for the young person whilst using a positive parenting model
  • Work with young people using positive support strategies including de-escalation tools and techniques using in-house training (PRICE)
  • Provide support to the Manager in order to complete day to day tasks
  • Run the home in the absence of the Manager
  • Complete on-call duties as and when required
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Provide positive parenting
  • Have exceptional communication skills
  • Have sound working knowledge of current legislation e.g., Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards)
  • Provide support and positive role modelling to the staff team (including completing supervisions)
  • Must be prepared to complete Diploma Level 5 Childrens Residential Care
  • To be open minded, empathetic in a calm and professional manner
  • Attend meetings etc on behalf of the Manager in a professional manner
  • Must have a full manual driving licence
  • Must be fully flexible and have the ability to work unsociable shift patterns
  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • The desire to develop into a Registered Childrens Home Manager
  • To participate in further continuing professional development support the needs of our young people
  • To have a clear passion and desire to support children and young people
  • To be active member of a progressive and committed team
Salary & Benefits

Salary – Up to £39,000

Hours – 2 days on 4 days off
