Responsibilities
- Lead the team to deliver high quality care to our young people
- Ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with the team regarding the plans for the day
- Review the young people's care plans and other associated documentation
- Undertake an in-depth quality and bespoke training package
- Attend/chair staff meetings and be proactive in developing and improving the service model
- Act as an advocate for the young person whilst using a positive parenting model
- Work with young people using positive support strategies including de-escalation tools and techniques using in-house training (PRICE)
- Provide support to the Manager in order to complete day to day tasks
- Run the home in the absence of the Manager
- Complete on-call duties as and when required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Provide positive parenting
- Have exceptional communication skills
- Have sound working knowledge of current legislation e.g., Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards)
- Provide support and positive role modelling to the staff team (including completing supervisions)
- Must be prepared to complete Diploma Level 5 Childrens Residential Care
- To be open minded, empathetic in a calm and professional manner
- Attend meetings etc on behalf of the Manager in a professional manner
- Must have a full manual driving licence
- Must be fully flexible and have the ability to work unsociable shift patterns
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
- The desire to develop into a Registered Childrens Home Manager
- To participate in further continuing professional development support the needs of our young people
- To have a clear passion and desire to support children and young people
- To be active member of a progressive and committed team
Salary & Benefits
Salary – Up to £39,000
Hours – 2 days on 4 days off
