Job Summary

The Healthcare Assistant will contribute to the assessment, implementation, and delivery of high‑quality patient care within the Specialist Continence team.

Job Purpose

Responsible for patients, relatives, and colleagues; developing and monitoring evidence‑based practice; delivering high‑quality health and social care programmes; providing comprehensive call answering and administration support for the continence prescription service; liaising with patients regarding product needs, generating prescriptions, and providing correspondence to other health professionals.

Main duties of the job
  • Undertake agreed activities as delegated by a registered nurse, with patients/service users under the direct/indirect supervision of qualified staff.
  • Display and maintain high levels of customer service, ensuring all service users have a positive experience of the Continence Prescription Service.
  • Respond to requests for product information and samples, sending them in a timely manner.
  • Produce reports, letters and spreadsheets as appropriate in the agreed format and time.
  • Maintain password‑controlled access to files on the computer to ensure security.
  • Adhere to trust policy at all times.
