Job summary

A leading health care provider in Wales is seeking an Advanced Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiographer to join a dynamic and supportive team. This permanent, full-time position offers an opportunity to work in a progressive echocardiography service, contributing to high-quality care for the local population. Responsibilities include performing echocardiograms and participating in various specialist clinics. Candidates should have substantial experience in echocardiography, strong communication skills, and relevant qualifications including BSE Accreditation.

Qualifications

  • Substantial experience in a senior clinical physiologist role in echocardiography.
  • Trained/prior experience in Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
  • Experience of sub-speciality echo such as valve disease, TOE, stress, and contrast echo.

Responsibilities

  • Perform, report and supervise echocardiograms.
  • Participate in echo guided optimisation clinics.
  • Play an active role in training and education of medical staff.

Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Advanced Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiography

This is an exciting opportunity, we are looking to appoint a dynamic, motivated Band 7 Advanced Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiographer at C&V UHB. We are looking to expand and modernise our cardiology service for the rapidly expanding local population.

This is a permanent, full-time post that will complement the present team of 'in-house' Cardiac Physiologists delivering tertiary cardiac services of the highest standard to a population of over 1.3 million people.

This post provides an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and experienced advanced cardiac physiologist to join a motivated, cohesive, friendly, supportive and progressive echocardiography service at a leading tertiary centre, to support the delivery of high-quality echocardiography and service development.

Main duties of the job

The posts are designed to offer candidates the opportunity to undertake sub-specialty interests such as Adult, Adult Congenital Echocardiography.

You will have the opportunity to be part of a successful Physiologist led valve clinic with over 1200 patients enrolled in the service, participate in echo guided optimisation clinics, physiology led simple ACHD lesion clinics, post TAVI and physiologist led stress echo clinics. We play an active role in the training and education of all medical staff performing echocardiography as well as routine audit and quality assurance projects.

In addition to their fundamental role in performing, reporting and supervising echocardiograms, successful applicants will be given dedicated time and support to undertake additional duties/specialist activities. These could include one or more of the following:

  • Quality Assurance/Improvement
  • Advanced Echocardiography (e.g. Stress Echocardiography)
  • Teaching & Training
  • Advanced Practice in Structural Heart Disease (incl. TAVI)

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
