A leading health organization in Cardiff is seeking an Advanced Cardiac Physiologist – Echocardiographer. The role involves performing, supervising, and reporting echocardiograms in a busy tertiary cardiac service. Candidates should have a background in advanced cardiac physiology and possess strong audit skills. The position offers professional development opportunities within a supportive team that provides high-standard cardiac services to a population of over 1.3 million. Fluency in Welsh is beneficial but not mandatory.
The posts are designed to offer candidates the opportunity to undertake sub‑specialty interests such as Adult and Adult Congenital Echocardiography. You will have the opportunity to be part of a successful physiologist‑led valve clinic with over 1200 patients enrolled in the service, participate in echo‑guided optimisation clinics, physiologist‑led simple ACHD lesion clinics, post‑TAVI and physiologist‑led stress echo clinics. We play an active role in the training and education of all medical staff performing echocardiography as well as routine audit and quality assurance projects.
In addition to the fundamental role of performing, reporting and supervising echocardiograms, successful applicants will receive dedicated time and support to undertake additional specialist activities. These may include:

We are looking to appoint a Band 7 Advanced Cardiac Physiologist – Echocardiographer. Candidates should have experience of advanced cardiac physiology, be able to work independently, and possess strong audit and quality improvement skills. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
