Job description

Administration Assistant – Wing View Care Home, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 0NY.

Pay Rate: £12.23 per hour. Contracted Hours: 10 hours per week. Shift Pattern: 10:00am – 3:00pm Saturday and Sunday.

About the Role

You’ll support the Home Manager with a full range of reception, administrative and basic finance activities to ensure the Home runs smoothly. You will be the first point of contact for enquiries, demonstrating a professional and welcoming manner to all those who visit, live and work in our homes.

You will ensure that all visitors follow the infection control rules in force at all times, take the lead on coordinating any testing requirements, organise couriers and manage associated administrative tasks.

Our homes are fun, so you’ll assist with planning and managing events that take place in the home, including celebrating residents’ milestone birthdays, fetes, employee presentations or other activities planned by our Activities Coordinator.

In joining us you’ll become part of our extended family, working alongside other team members passionate about providing a safe environment, warmth and kindness to all those who live and work in our homes.

Conveniently positioned on the south‑west side of the village, close to local amenities: Wing View is in a peaceful neighbourhood. With Leighton Buzzard just three miles to the east and Aylesbury five miles away, it’s ideally situated for residents to make the most of life in Buckinghamshire.

In Return

The Trust is a great place to work; we’ve been providing care for almost 1,000 years and we’re currently the second largest not‑for‑profit provider in the UK. Not‑for‑profit means that we reinvest every penny we make into our residents, colleagues and the care homes we live and work in. Therefore, we offer a great range of benefits, including a competitive salary, training and development, along with:

  • 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
  • Higher rates of pay at weekends
  • A workplace pension
  • Free DBS
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Refer a Friend scheme rewarding you up to £1,000 for every recommendation you make who successfully starts working for us
  • Blue Light Card and “My Rewards” programme, offering you discounts on shopping, days out, restaurants and much more
About You

You will have previous experience from an administrative or reception job and will be confident using Microsoft Office.

In addition, you will have experience handling cash and keeping reports up to date.

Ideally you will have your Maths and English to GCSE level.

Most importantly, you will be comfortable in an elderly care setting, able to relate to our residents in a caring and sensitive manner.

This is a busy and varied role, so you’ll need to be efficient and organised and happy to use your initiative to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.

As the first person many of our visitors will speak to or see, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
