Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rhondda Cynon Taf to assist with the appointment of an Administrative Assistant, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay

£13.26 - £17.35 per hour

Summary

The Administrative Assistant will support the Client Finance Supervisor within the Financial Assessment and Charging Team. The role focuses on providing day-to-day administrative and financial support, maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments and invoices, and assisting with general office duties to ensure the smooth running of the service.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining financial databases and records (e.g. Abacus, WCCIS, spreadsheets)
  • Process payments and raise invoices using council financial systems
  • Support the Finance Supervisor with daily team workloads
  • Carry out general office duties including scanning, filing, mail handling and data entry
  • Ensure records are accurate and updated in a timely manner
  • Comply with Health & Safety policies and safeguarding responsibilities
Qualification
  • 4 GCSEs at grade A-C or equivalent, including Maths and English (or Welsh)
Essentials
  • Experience using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and Excel
  • Experience working in a busy office environment
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Accurate data entry and attention to detail
