Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Braintree District Council in recruiting an Administration Officer on a full-time, temporary basis.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to be on-site 5 days per week.

The Opportunity

To provide administrative support to the Business Rates team, in preparation for the Government reforms to the Non Domestic Rating Multipliers legislation (Business Rates) which will become effective from 1st April 2026

Role Accountabilities
  • Collating and recording information from over 5,200 Business Rate accounts (NDR) in readiness for the Government's NDR reforms which commence on 1/4/2026.
  • Use of various computer applications to accurately record data from businesses within the district.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and transfer accurate data to the Civica Open Revenues system
  • Liaising with local businesses via phone & email to obtain information/clarification, where required.
  • Providing clerical assistance to officers within the Revenues team to ensure timely implementation of the new legislation for the Braintree district.
