Job description
Overview

This role provides admin support to the Fast Track Angina Clinic team and cardiology secretaries, to ensure patients\' correspondence is delivered in line with the Trust\'s targets, via the digital dictation system. This requires someone who is well organised, a team player and has great communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Type all clinical letters and other correspondence as required.
  • Proactively take forward any instructions from the medical team following clinic consultations, e.g., ensure patients are booked for follow-up appointments and referrals for investigations.
  • Update and monitor the Patient Tracking List (PTL) to ensure a smooth patient pathway.
  • Check clinics are cached up correctly after the clinic.
  • Deal effectively and courteously with enquiries from GPs, patients and other departments within the service and within the Trust; proactively manage these enquiries to ensure a safe and smooth pathway for patients.
  • Support the operational team to facilitate a reduction in the overall patient\'s journey to support delivery of the 18-week target and improve patient care.
  • Organise investigations and procedures for patients as authorised, within or outside the Trust, initiating IPPT forms as appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team with strong communication and attention to detail.
  • Experience in admin support in a clinical environment is desirable.
  • Proficiency with digital dictation systems and managing confidential information to maintain patient pathways.
