A regional healthcare provider is seeking a Patient Flow Co-ordinator to support the Acute Medicine Department at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The successful candidate will manage the discharge and flow of acute medical patients, collaborating closely with various teams to ensure effective patient care. Duties include monitoring performance, facilitating communications for timely discharges, and handling some clinical tasks such as venepuncture and ECGs. This role is essential in achieving patient safety and satisfaction.
We are looking to recruit a Patient Flow Co-ordinator across the Acute Medicine Department at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
You will be a member of the Acute Medicine Team working directly with the Emergency Flow managers to support the discharge and flow of acute medical patients within the emergency department and working alongside the Acute assessment unit, Acute medical unit and SDEC Nurse Coordinators (NiC) supporting the management of all attendances, admissions and discharges for Acute Medicine patients by facilitating an efficient, effective and timely management of patient’s diagnostics, decisions and utilisation of beds and resources.
You will develop close working relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff ensuring they demonstrate a professional manner and personal confidence.
There is a small clinical component to this role, e.g. venepuncture, cannulation, performing ECG's.
