Overview

We have a vacancy at our Day Service! This is a rare opportunity to join our team. The role is a Community/Activity Support Worker – Supporting able adults with Learning Disabilities.

Key Details

Type: Full time, permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00‑4:15/4:30
Rate: £13.21 per hour (after initial probationary period)

Responsibilities
  • Support groups of adults with learning disabilities.
  • Help and encourage them to take part in activities with their friends.
  • Participate in many activities out in the community and some onsite using facilities at our premises.
  • Get involved in lots of varied activities, promoting engagement and enjoyment.
  • Motivate those you are supporting, work as part of a team, and contribute towards the smooth running of the organisation.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience of people with Learning Disabilities (either through a work role or personally) is helpful but not essential.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and relate to people with differing needs.
  • Fluent in English to negotiate with and influence others, including achieving agreement between groups of individuals with different ideas.
  • Full driving licence essential – you will be driving our 7/8‑seater vehicles daily to collect clients from their homes, take them to activities and return them home at the end of the day. Having your own vehicle with business‑use insurance is an advantage.
  • Enhanced DBS check will be undertaken at our expense, and references are required.
  • Willingness to follow strict IPC measures as necessary from time to time.
