Overview

As an Activities Lead at a Barchester care home, you'll help to create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver exceptional all-round care and support for our residents. You will be computer literate and able to work closely with our community engagement team to create community links and showcase our Home; you will also be responsible for updating the home’s social media platforms. Our ethos is all about celebrating life, so you'll help to devise imaginative, fun and motivational activities that suit every interest and ability. An extremely rewarding role, part of your time as an Activities Coordinator will be spent getting to know our residents and their families before you create tailored activities programmes focused on maximising everyone’s wellbeing, independence and social engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver imaginative, fun and motivational activities that suit every interest and ability.
  • Collaborate with the community engagement team to create community links and showcase the Home.
  • Update and manage the home’s social media platforms.
  • Get to know residents and their families to tailor activity programmes that maximise wellbeing, independence and social engagement.
  • Contribute to a warm, empathetic, and personable atmosphere within the home and with staff and residents.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Warm, empathetic and personable approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and a driven mindset; ability to get things done and make things happen.
  • Creative and enthusiastic approach to activities to inspire participation.
  • Comfort with using computers and social media; ability to work with the community engagement team.
  • Relevant experience is ideal but not essential; full training will be provided to develop skills and progress your career.
