A family-run manufacturing company is seeking an experienced accounts assistant to manage financial records and assist in the smooth operation of the sales department in Wigston. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, be proficient in SAGE accounting software, and possess strong organizational skills. Job description

Shift Pattern: 10:00 am – 14:00 pm Monday to Friday (20 Hours per week)

Our client is looking to recruit an accounts assistant to join their family-run manufacturing facility based in Wigston. The Role:
  • Process purchase invoices, ensuring alignment with goods received and purchase orders
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in coordination with procurement and warehouse teams
  • Dispatch sales orders and create sales invoices
  • Book stock in, ensuring accurate recording of raw materials, components, and finished goods
  • Assist with stock reconciliations and stock takes
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Post daily banking transactions
  • Maintain accurate records in the accounting and stock control
  • Handle staff expenses and company credit card reconciliations
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to resolve finance and stock-related queries
  • Ensure that the sales ledger debtors are within their credit limits and prompt payments are received
  • Support year-end audit processes and provide documentation as required
Our Ideal Candidate:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role is a must
  • Proficient in using SAGE accounting software (or similar)
  • Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes
  • Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
  • Construction materials/construction industry experience is advantageous
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise according to business needs.
