Location: St Austell, Cornwall
Contract: Approx. 6 weeks, full-time (35 hours per week, Monday–Friday)
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to support a busy finance team on a short-term basis.

The role requires strong attention to detail, proven accounts experience, and the ability to manage a variety of tasks efficiently. This is an immediate start for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions via daily banking routines.
  • Reconcile cash, ensuring all transactions are accurate and up to date.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier account queries or irregularities.
  • Carry out aged creditor reviews, highlighting and correcting anomalies.
  • Perform 3-way match checks on purchase orders and reconcile supplier statements.
  • Prepare and process supplier payment runs in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Support financial controls, including VAT accuracy and CIS indirect tax returns.
  • Review and process employee expenses, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance accounts payable efficiency.
Requirements
  • Previous accounts payable or finance experience (essential).
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders professionally.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
