Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 (Dependent on Experience)

The Role

Are you a detail‑oriented finance professional looking to grow within a dynamic insurance environment? We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our established North Leeds team. This is a critical role focused on maintaining the integrity of our financial data and ensuring smooth transactions between our clients and insurance partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Insurer Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of insurer statements against our internal back‑office systems.
  • Credit Control: Monitor aged debt and liaise with account handlers to ensure timely premium collection.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process BACS payments for insurer settlements and client refunds.
  • Query Resolution: Investigate and resolve discrepancies in premium amounts, commissions, or tax (IPT) calculations.
  • Banking: Daily posting of cash receipts and bank statement reconciliation.
About You

The ideal candidate will have a "can-do" attitude and a high level of numerical accuracy.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a finance role (Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper) is essential. Insurance industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong Excel skills ( and the ability to handle high volumes of data.
  • Systems: Familiarity with insurance software Acturis is a major plus.
  • Traits: Methodical, organized, and capable of working to month‑end deadlines.
