Project Accountant - Glasgow - £40 - £50k

Are you a proactive and analytical finance professional looking to make a real impact? We're seeking a dedicated Project Accountant to join our team in Glasgow. In this role, you'll play a key part in driving financial performance and providing vital management information to support important project decisions. This position requires a minimum of 3-4 days per week at our Glasgow Depot.

Responsibilities

• Managing project accounts and maintaining effective cost control mechanisms
• Analyzing costs against budgets and forecasts, preparing variance analysis reports
• Processing and validating supplier invoices, ensuring accurate monthly accruals
• Supporting Commercial Managers with forecasting and business reviews
• Preparing payment applications and managing billing responsibilities
• Ensuring compliance with internal control procedures
• Providing financial modelling and costing support
• Developing cross-functional relationships to enhance departmental efficiency

Qualifications

• Being part-qualified in CIMA or ACCA
• Having a working knowledge of SAP (desirable)
• Possessing experience in project-based accounting (desirable)
• Demonstrating solid accounting and financial experience
• Having a strong understanding of key financial statements
• Exhibiting excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Being self-motivated with a proactive approach to work
