Overview

Location: Central London (5 days on site). Excellent opportunity to join a world-leading IT MSP and trusted partner to the U.K. MOD. As a 3rd Line Support Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining secure infrastructure environments, while also contributing to project work such as upgrades and new deployments. This role goes beyond day-to-day incident management you will be working closely with Engineering, SOC, and Network teams, as well as taking part in project delivery, system upgrades, and wider infrastructure initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues across Windows Server, VMware, AD, GPO, DNS, WSUS, RDS and storage/backup environments
• Supporting wider teams (Engineering, SOC, Network) with escalated technical incidents
• Patching and maintaining test & live environments (Windows, RHEL, AV, WSUS, product updates)
• Administering Active Directory accounts, groups, memberships, permissions
• Contributing to project work such as system upgrades, deployments and migrations (e.g. Exchange upgrades)

What We’re Looking For

Infrastructure support experience across:

• Windows Server (support & config)
• Active Directory (admin level, GPO, permissions)
• VMware vSphere (Hyper-V considered if strong)
• Windows OS support
• Storage & backups
• RDS, WSUS
• Desirable SharePoint, SQL, Exchange
• Strong troubleshooting and defect resolution skills
• Experience supporting secure Defence/MOD environments is highly advantageous
• Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple technical teams
