Overview

1x Mechanical Project Engineer & 1x Electrical Project Engineer – Heathrow Airport • 5 days on site • Circa £70k + £6k Car Allowance + Package

The Heathrow Modernisation Programme is underway, with a minimum £10bn spend to increase capacity by 20 million passengers. We are partnered with one of the UK’s biggest construction firms, who will be self-delivering the elements of the MEP services. They expect no less than 7 years of work on site and are strengthening their core MEP team with the addition of MEP Project Engineers and MEP Project Managers. The most pressing need is for experienced MEP Engineers. This person would report directly to the MEP Project Director and lead the mechanical/electrical packages on multiple projects.

Key Accountabilities
  • Leads the MEP Engineering aspects within the project team whilst demonstrating professional and respectful behaviours.
  • Liaises and coordinates with key project stakeholders, forming strong working relationships with the Client, Consultants, Trade Contractors, and other team members.
  • Provides technical support to the tendering process via the bid teams and sector leadership/bid leads.
  • Provides technical input into procurement strategies and ensures specialist packages and appointments are procured against the agreed scope demarcation and to budget.
  • Undertakes initial review of contracts and scope, value engineering, schedules, and trade contracts, and provides support to the commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle in terms of reviewing progress or resolving issues.
  • Prepares and coordinates the delivery of strategies and programmes for all phases of the project, ensuring the key milestones, interfaces, dependencies, logistics, and work sequencing are all properly considered.
  • Develops and implements commissioning strategies in line with the company’s commissioning standards inclusive of IST approach, ATPs and Soft Landings.
  • Undertakes productivity assessments using digital technologies to ensure the project/package is on schedule.
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Project Engineer with either a mechanical or electrical bias.
  • Bachelor’s degree/HND or similar in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Accreditation with CIBSE, IET, IMechE, SoPHE.
  • SMSTS and CSCS card.
