Job description
Rehabilitation Assistant Practitioner – Orthopaedic Therapy Team, Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary

This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative, compassionate and collaborative Home team.

You will work under the supervision of registered Therapy staff – Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physiotherapy – to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals, implement and adapt a delegated treatment programme, and complete daily duties to support patient care in ward C6 and the Short Stay ward.

You will be allocated a delegated patient caseload supported by OT and Physiotherapy within the team and you will use specialist practical skills to deliver flexible, patient‑centred care. You will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver a high standard of person‑centred care.

Qualifications: you will require a formal qualification in a health‑related subject at Level 7. Additionally, knowledge of the clinical speciality techniques and activities relevant to the patient group is required. You must also demonstrate effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills, time management, planning and organisational skills, the ability to work individually and as part of a team, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills while maintaining a record of learning.

This will be a 7‑day service. The schedule will be discussed at interview.
