A specialist education provider in Gateshead is looking for a calm and patient Behavioural Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil needing support for social, emotional, and mental health challenges. The role involves providing consistent reassurance and support to help the pupil feel safe and ready to learn. Successful candidates will have experience in youth work or education, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in trauma-informed practices.

We’re working with a specialist SEND school in Gateshead that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. They’re looking for a steady, patient and confident Behavioural Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil who needs consistency, reassurance and someone who genuinely believes in them.
Every day will be different, but you’ll play a huge part in helping a young person feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
