Offer Description

The ZEFIX zebrafish facility at BioCampus Montpellier Service Unit is searching for a research technician to aid in various research project involving zebrafish as a model organism.

Main activities :

  • Maintain and service the aquatic animal facility.
  • Maintain and service existing breeding equipment (aquariums, filters), and receive and commission new breeding racks.
  • Liaise with technical services and suppliers to ensure the long-term operation and sustainability of the facility.
  • Feed and care for the fish on a daily basis.
  • Monitor environmental parameters (water quality, temperature, lighting cycles) on a daily basis.
  • Track animal movements (arrivals and departures) and monitor their health and sanitary status.
  • Conduct matings to obtain eggs (for breeding or in response to user requests).
  • Participate actively in the Animal Welfare Committee.
  • Keep detailed laboratory records and documentation.

Additional Information

Annual Leave and RTT: 44 days per year (equivalent to 22 days for a 6-month contract).
