Description du poste

In the field of Liebherr Mining Division Zero Emission Program, we are searching for a Battery Power System Engineer (w/m/d) starting now. The role is based at Liebherr Mining Equipment Colmar SAS, 49 rue Willi Liebherr, 68025 Colmar (FRANCE).

The engineer will be in charge of integrating a battery power system into the Mining Division’s equipment, focusing on heavy off‑highway trucks.

Role Description
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for Mining Division equipment, integrating battery power systems.
  • Lead technical studies, plan, and manage product development.
  • Produce technical documentation such as system specifications, component specifications, architecture diagrams, assembly drawings, and bills of material.
  • Participate actively in integration, validation, and qualification tests of the battery power system.
  • Support the industrialization of Battery Electric Off‑Highway trucks.
  • Collaborate closely with Liebherr engineering teams, the Head of Zero Emission, product managers, production, sales, customer support, and external suppliers to ensure successful delivery of zero‑emission solutions.

The battery power system may include battery modules, BMS, thermal management, power conversion, and distribution.

Profile

Specialist in mechanical engineering, mechanical systems, and powertrain technologies with experience in industrialization of mechanical products and qualification of mechanical equipment.

  • Expertise in battery power module technologies and battery chemistry, especially LFP and LTO.
  • Knowledge of cooling systems, battery thermal management, electromagnetic compatibility, mechanical welding, resistance of materials, and fatigue design.
  • Knowledge in multiphysics systems simulations (electromechanical, hydraulic, thermal).
  • Knowledge in vehicle systems and energy management.
  • Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Additional specialization in battery technology or energy systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in requirements management is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, structured and autonomous working method, organisational and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Motivated, strong curiosity, and self‑initiative spirit.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in French, German, and English.
  • Proficient with engineering office data management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 30%.
