Description du poste

UTM Consultants are looking for a Welding and Structural QC Inspector, to assist our client with their project offshore, France. The Welding and Structural QC Inspector will supervise and coordinate all Quality Control activities related to welding and structural fabrication at the fabrication yard, ensuring that works and documentation comply with approved specifications, international codes, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and applicable quality requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Verify availability and conformity of welding consumables, equipment and instruments.
  • Monitor correct receipt, storage, preservation, traceability and calibration of materials and tools.
  • Check qualifications and validity of welders, NDT personnel and special process operators.
  • Witness inspections and tests in accordance with approved ITPs.
  • Review and validate QC records, test reports and fabrication dossiers.
  • Ensure full compliance of NDT activities and acceptance criteria.
  • Follow and verify the status of Mechanical Completion and related documentation.
  • Evaluate and track Non-Conformities, corrective actions and closures.
  • Ensure non-conforming items are identified, segregated and controlled.
  • Register findings in designated systems/tools and track timely closure.
  • Report daily to the Site Quality Management and support lessons learned activities.
Experience & Technical Background
  • Minimum 8 years proven experience in welding and structural QC inspection on large industrial fabrication projects.
  • Technical background in Mechanical / Structural / Welding.
  • Experience working within EPC / EPCI execution environments.
Qualifications
  • Technical Degree / Diploma in a relevant engineering field (or equivalent experience).
  • Welding and NDT qualifications issued to recognized international standards and valid for the entire 2026–2027 period.
Mandatory Knowledge of Codes & Standards
  • AWS D1.1 / D1.5 – steel structures
  • ISO 15614 – welding procedure qualification
  • ISO 3834 – welding quality requirements
  • EN 1090 – execution of steel structures
QC/QA Expertise
  • Full familiarity with:
  • Welding traceability
  • WPS / WPQ / PQR
  • ITP full lifecycle (from manufacturing preparation to mechanical completion)
  • NCR lifecycle and corrective actions
  • NDT execution and acceptance
  • Mechanical Completion dossiers
Languages
  • Fluent French – mandatory
  • Fluent English – mandatory
Preferred (added value but not mandatory)
  • Membership in CQI or similar professional association.
  • Chartered Quality Professional or similar status.
  • Previous experience on offshore substations / topsides / heavy steel modular construction.
