A prestigious engineering school in France is seeking a junior researcher in plasma catalysis. The successful candidate will conduct research in nonthermal plasma, develop catalysts, supervise students, and engage in scientific communication. Ideal applicants should have a doctoral degree in chemistry or physics, with strong knowledge in catalytic and cold plasma chemistry. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative energy solutions and to be part of a leading research team.
Mines Paris-PSL is one of the most prestigious engineering schools in France. Mines Paris-PSL is a public institution that trains generalist engineers through an innovative and multidisciplinary educational approach (engineering sciences and social sciences and humanities). Its affiliation with PSL University, which ranks among the top 50 in international rankings, represents a real opportunity to enrich academic paths.
The PERSEE Centre is based in Sophia Antipolis. It is one of the 18 research centres at Mines Paris PSL and one of the four centres in the institution's Energy and Processes Department. Its activity focuses on new energy technologies and renewable energies, centred on three key themes : Materials and Processes for Energy, Thermochemistry and Plasmas, Integration of Renewable Energies and Electrification Management.
Within this framework, the ‘Thermochemistry and Plasmas’ (TeP) group is looking for a junior researcher in plasma catalysis with excellent knowledge of both catalytic chemistry and cold plasma chemistry for its activities in the ‘non-thermal plasmas’ area.
The successful candidate will join the TeP team at the PERSEE Mines Paris PSL center where he/she will undertake research on nonthermal plasma.
He/she will work under the scientific direction of the TeP manager with the other team members on every stage of research projects in this area (from conceiving ideas to communicating scientific results).
He/she will join a focus team within a research group comprising researchers, engineers and technicians and will be required to supervise students, including acting as a thesis advisor for PhD students. This means that he/she will take an active part in most current and future scientific studies.
