We are revolutionizing the space industry with ground‑breaking innovations that allow us to offer the best performance to cost propulsion systems. Our goal is to be the propulsion provider for the next generation of spacecraft, which is essential to meet demands and compete in the booming space market of the next decade. We are a passionate, multicultural, and multidisciplinary team pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space propulsion technology. We have already made history by successfully testing the world's first 3D‑printed Methalox Aerospike engine, marking a significant milestone for the space industry. We are looking for talented professionals to join our international teams in Barcelona and Toulouse. We want to be a key player in improving diversity in the Aerospace sector as, in Pangea, we believe that diversity (gender, age, race, sexual orientation, beliefs, disability, culture, etc.) is a key to success. Within Pangea, everyone can grow with the same opportunities. We encourage you to apply. Individually we are different, but together we are an amazing team!

We are looking for a Systems & RAMS Engineer in Toulouse.

About the role

As a Systems & RAMS Engineer at Pangea Propulsion, your mission is to ensure the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of our aerospace systems throughout their lifecycle. You will play a crucial role in the design, analysis, and implementation of robust RAMS processes and practices, contributing to the success of our space missions and the safety of our operations. You will be the only dedicated RAMS engineer at the company, and as such you should be prepared to simplify your methods where needed to fit a smaller team with aggressive timelines and to independently define the best course of action.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Guide and mentor engineers in RAMS principles and best practices, foster a culture of safety and proactive risk management, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate RAMS into design and development.
  • Analysis & Process Development: Develop and implement advanced RAMS methodologies for space systems, including Pangea’s product lines; perform reliability analyses (FMEA, FTA), risk assessments, and hazard analyses; conduct hazard analyses for launch operations and system testing.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Establish and maintain RAMS documentation, standards, and reports; ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards; participate in verification and validation activities to meet RAMS requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Perform trade‑off and redundancy optimization studies; monitor system performance and implement reliability enhancements; stay updated on industry advancements and apply emerging trends.
What you need to be successful
  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Strong understanding of RAMS principles, methodologies, and techniques, as well as systems engineering concepts and practices.
  • Experience (minimum 3 years) of RAMS engineering, especially in space systems, using techniques such as FMEA and FTA and familiarity with ECSS, ISO, and MIL‑STD standards.
  • Experience with RAMS software tools and simulation software.
  • Leadership and communication skills: ability to guide and mentor teams, excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration, and strong documentation skills for clear RAMS reports.
  • Project and personal skills: ability to work independently and take ownership of RAMS activities throughout the entire project lifecycle, time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines, commitment to excellence and passion for next‑generation space propulsion.
  • Fluency in English and French.
Other useful skills
  • In‑depth knowledge of space system architectures, subsystems, and operational environments, especially for rocket engines or launch vehicle hardware.

Not hitting every requirement? Research suggests that some people tend to hesitate when it comes to job applications if they don’t meet all the desired qualifications. Here at Pangea Aerospace, we’re committed to fostering a workplace that values diversity, inclusivity, and authenticity. So, if you’re enthusiastic about this role but your prior experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification mentioned in the job description, we still strongly encourage you to apply. You might just be the ideal candidate for this position or other opportunities within our organization.
