Within Europe, our role is to collaborate with the design, plan for the design development and the construction of the Fashion Boutiques.

We work closely with Image and Market teams to ensure the projects are aligned with Global's business orientation and brand identity. Our aim is to create a fluid and positive client experience in an high-end architecture environment.

The position reports to the Europe Boutique Area Architecture Manager and includes travelling to visit and monitor new locations, ongoing construction projects and existing stores.

What Impact you will have
  • Planning
    • Assist CHANEL country managers on meetings, negotiations, to assess technical and budget information related to the projects
    • Manage the relationship with the brand partners on the project: Department stores / Malls / Landlords / Co-board / etc
    • Prepare a preliminary schedule for the projects; perform costs estimating and value engineering; supervise all aspects of day-to-day management of construction projects along with the local architect
  • Design and Construction
    • Work, coordinate and gather the necessary information for the projects in cooperation with all CHANEL departments involved in a point-of-sale opening and day-to-day life: Image / Retail / Finance / Legal / Operations / Real Estate / etc
    • Work in coordination with the Image & Artistic Direction teams and the external consultants on the design of the boutique
    • Select, hire, instruct and negotiate costs with consultants (Local Architect, Permitting, etc.) and contractors (General Contractor, Millworker, etc.) in transparency with the Financial and Procurement Department
    • Oversee and ensure the respect of the timetable for all phases of the project, including programming, design, development, construction, purchase orders (deliverables including brand supplied items), opening and maintenance
    • Develop and administer project budgets and fiscal controls, contract and quality control; check the correct process of payment and resolution of litigations
    • Monitor and coordinate work performed by field staff and construction firms; ensuring that project operations compliance with design specifications and with regional policies and regulations, established performance and delivery criteria, and ensuring that brand requirements are being met
  • Maintenance
    • Develop, participate and animate a solid maintenance community for the Fashion Store planning including all necessary processes
    • Provide overall management direction for the maintenance of the boutiques, including development, realization, renovation and reinstatement, in line with the brand image, the time schedule and budget
    • Engage with the maintenance managers in each country and build a strong team communication and collaboration
What you will bring
Experience
  • 7/8 years experience in Architecture, 5-year experience in Retail
  • Experience required in Luxury Business and/or International major fashion companies
Education
  • Master in Architecture Degree, construction engineer
Technical competencies
  • Analytical and project management skills; written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal and teamwork
  • Confirmed CAD skills: Autocad, Sketchup, 3D visualization, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • General Office software skills: Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, etc
  • Professional proficiency in French and English, every additional language it’s a plus
