A global insurance organization in Île-de-France is seeking a Statutory Accounting Manager to lead income statements preparation and contribute to statutory accounting reports. Ideal candidates are qualified actuaries with at least 10 years of experience in life and health insurance, possessing strong data manipulation skills and a command of English. You will work closely with various internal stakeholders and improve reporting processes while meeting deadlines and adhering to schedules.

AXA Health International is a new organization within the Health Division of AXA, bringing together all teams involved in cross-border health and protection insurance and reinsurance. One of these teams currently operates within the AXA Life & Health International Solutions (ALHIS) department of AXA France.

This department manages a portfolio of large corporate clients (typically CAC40 companies), governmental organizations (foreign affairs ministries, embassies), and international non-governmental and inter-governmental organizations, all seeking international health and protection coverage for their staff worldwide.

Within the Actuarial Function, as a Statutory Accounting Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead the activities of the department:

Contribute to the preparation of income statements :

  • Produce a detailed view twice a year, mostly by client, for AHI business. This is provided to underwriters and enables them to perform the renewal campaing.
  • Contribute to regular statutory accounting reports, and forecasts/bduget/plan
  • Review results for reasonableness and coordinate with business line managers to prepare for top management questions.
  • Validate assumptions for IFRS 17 and SII
  • Present results and technical assumptions in different committees with the reserving teams, make sure the profit and loss is understood and well explained to all internal clients.
  • Contribute to the actuarial report

Participate in the overhaul of the inventory process

  • Lead the improvement of reporting processes, tools, and estimation methods (tool architecture, defining inputs and outputs)

All these responsibilities will also give you the opportunity to interact regularly with various internal stakeholders (Business Teams, Management Control, Internal Control, Internal Audit, Risk Management), Group functions (Management Control / Actuarial Function), and external entities (ACPR, Statutory Auditors).


This function interacts with :

  • IFRS 17/S2/NBV team which runs all the calculations required to produce the reports in these different norms
  • Reinsurance Operations
  • General accounting team : which puts together all the pieces to deliver final financial statements
  • Financial controlling team : which leads forecasts and plan/budget processes
  • You are a qualified actuary with minimum 10 years actuarial working experience in Life and health insurance
  • You have a strong interest in numbers and data manipulation.
  • You have a good understanding with IT tools such as SAS/WPS, Excel, and possibly VBA.
  • You have a good command of English.
  • You are organized, able to plan your work, meet deadlines, and adhere to schedules.
  • You demonstrate rigor, can explain your work clearly, and provide the necessary elements for decision-making (internal or external).
  • You enjoy working in a team, sharing ideas, innovating, and taking initiatives.
  • You have a client-oriented mindset.
