A dynamic fintech company in Paris is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead backend architecture and technical strategy. With at least 8 years of experience, including 3 in a senior role, you will drive system design and mentor teams. Strong skills in distributed systems, Python, and a product mindset are essential. 🚀 What You’ll Do

• Drive Architecture & Technical Strategy: Evolve our platform architecture & system design.
• Own & Build: Take charge of entire domains, spec & write clean and scalable code.
• Elevate Engineering Quality: Champion coding standards, eliminate systemic issues.
• Enable High Performing Teams: Mentor engineers of all levels and multiply the impact of each team.
• Optimize workflows: Spot performance bottlenecks, improve CI/CD pipelines, and push for smarter tooling.
• Improve Reliability & Security: Identify and address critical technical debt, failure modes and security weaknesses.

You will have the freedom to focus on the problems you identify, the autonomy to take a hands‑on approach to solving them, and the accountability for your results.

🧑💻 What we’re looking for

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, at least 3 at senior/staff level
• Strong experience designing and scaling distributed systems (preferably using Python) or complex platforms
• Excellent communication and ability to influence without authority
• A product mindset: you care about outcomes, not just code
• Backend expertise: APIs, microservices, architecture best practices
• Databases & SQL: Data modeling, query optimization
• Git lover: Comfortable with version control and code reviews

🧩 Bonus points if you’ve worked on

• B2B SaaS or finance/ERP tools
• BaaS APIs or payment infra
• Serverless, AWS, event‑driven architecture exposure
• Experience introducing new languages, frameworks, or engineering practices to teams (e.g., Rust, strong typing, typed ORMs, migrations)
