A leading IT consultancy is looking for a skilled Solution Architect in Strasbourg to lead the design and implementation of large-scale IT systems. The ideal candidate will have over 9 years of experience, a Master's degree, and a strong background in enterprise architecture and hybrid cloud solutions. Responsibilities include analysing requirements, designing systems, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This is a full-time, on-site position with a competitive daily rate.

  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and system integration.

Role Title:

Solution Architect

Contract Duration:

Initial period of 160 man-days

Strasbourg, France (on-site 100%)

Day Rate:

585 euros per day

Role Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Solution Architect to join our Strasbourg team, leading the design and implementation of large-scale, complex IT systems for an Institution. The role focuses on defining technical foundations, ensuring scalable and secure architectures, and guiding implementation in line with enterprise principles and organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse business and technical requirements to inform system design and implementation.
  • Design large-scale IT systems, including hardware, software, and integration layers, aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Incorporate hybrid cloud solutions, integrating on-premise infrastructure with public cloud platforms.
  • Ensure security, scalability, and robustness of system architectures, embedding security by design principles.
  • Develop high-level system and application architectures, including microservices, event-driven, synchronous, and asynchronous patterns.
  • Design Java-based distributed systems, messaging systems, and event-driven architectures aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish architectural standards, policies, and guidelines to ensure regulatory and industry compliance.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for technology and architecture innovation.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure IT architectures support business goals.
  • Ensure systems comply with relevant regulatory standards and adapt to legislative changes.
Essential Skills / Experience:
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) with 9+ years of IT experience.
  • Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or Senior IT Architect in large-scale, complex IT environments.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, system integration, and hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Expertise in Java-based distributed systems, microservices, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift), and event-driven architectures.
  • Proficiency in server architecture, Linux and Windows environments, IP-based networking, and shared storage solutions.
  • Experience with REST, gRPC, JSON, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards, security by design principles, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to innovate and stay current with emerging technologies and architectural patterns.
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
Desirable Skills / Experience:
  • Experience working in EU or international IT agencies.
  • Knowledge of high-security, mission-critical systems.
  • Exposure to enterprise-wide governance and compliance frameworks.
