Role

We are looking for a full-stack engineer who is passionate about solving interesting problems and enjoys the craft of programming. We value a senior, front-end‑leaning engineer who can reason about end-to-end software architectures and collaborate across teams. We work with a Lean environment, emphasize frequent, well-tested software delivery, and value TDD and strong testing practices. As a senior engineer, you will mentor junior team members and grow your career with support from mentors and coaches.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product designers, product managers and engineers to deliver great experiences using React and other architectural frameworks.
• Contribute to system design, architecture, patterns, OO programming and cloud-native architectures.
• Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle in a product-centric, Agile/Lean environment.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and participate in code reviews and pair programming.
• Open to learning new technologies, owning topics, and exploring innovative solutions.

Essential Experience

• Experience in software engineering; flexibility with language and technology is valued as long as you have the right mindset.
• Strong React experience and ability to work with product designers, managers and other engineers.
• System design, architecture, design patterns, OO programming and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong product-centric mindset and ability to work across the development lifecycle in a Lean/Agile process.
• Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Technology

We are technology agnostic. The tech stack includes React, GraphQL, React Native, TypeScript, Gatsby and Emotion. Backend includes Python and Ruby. Frontend uses React and TypeScript. Deployment uses Kubernetes and Docker. AWS infrastructure (Aurora, Redis, Dynamo, S3, SNS, SQS, CloudFront, API Gateway, etc.). GitLab for software lifecycle management. We welcome candidates who are open to learning and growing into the required technologies.

Onfido has a distributed workforce with a hybrid model. The role can be remote or based in our offices. We encourage flexibility to work fully remote or in-office as suits you best.
