Overview

A rapidly growing deep tech company is seeking a Data Scientist to join its mission-driven team revolutionizing microbiological diagnostics. In this role, you’ll apply your machine learning expertise to multimodal data, working closely with engineers and scientists to push the boundaries of automation, analytics, and detection in the industrial microbiology space.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and scale machine learning models for multimodal biological data, including imaging, time series, and metadata.
  • Own the data science pipeline end-to-end — from data exploration, preprocessing, and training to deployment and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, biologists, and product experts to translate lab-generated data into actionable insights.
  • Build clean, scalable codebases and contribute to core components of the data / ML architecture.
  • Prototype and experiment with cutting-edge ML methods, including classical models, deep learning, and computer vision.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in data science or applied machine learning (industry)
  • Strong skills in Python and ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Experience working with Computer Vision and modern Neural Network architectures for Vision Tasks.
  • Able to write production-ready, clean code and work with engineering best practices (version control, testing, CI / CD, etc.).
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with autonomy and ownership.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills — you enjoy working cross-functional.
Nice to Have
  • Background or exposure to microbiology, bioinformatics, or other life science domains.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP), Docker, and ML Ops tools.
  • Previous work with real-world sensor or lab instrumentation data.
