A multilateral development bank in Paris is looking for a Senior Accountant to ensure compliance with IFRS and drive change across 43 member countries. The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate degree in finance or accounting, 4-5 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of IFRS. The position offers a four-year fixed-term contract with a salary range of €70,595 to €90,205 per year along with benefits.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, valuation and provisioning methods.
  • ACCA certification and IPSAS familiarity are strong assets.

The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) is a multilateral development bank with a social mission spanning 43 member countries. We finance investments and provide technical assistance in key areas like education, health and housing—prioritising support for vulnerable communities and tackling the social dimensions of climate change.

As Senior Accountant within the Risk & Control Directorate, you’ll ensure compliance with IFRS and IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards. You’ll prepare and review financial reports, guide the application of evolving regulations, and support the implementation of accounting tools, working closely with teams across the Bank.

You’ll lead technical accounting reviews, contribute to integrated reporting, analyse the Bank’s income statements, and validate financial treatment of new products. The role blends regulatory insight with operational rigour in a dynamic international context.

To join, you’ll need:

  • a postgraduate degree in finance or accounting,
  • 4–5 years' relevant experience in investment banking, auditing or multilateral finance,
  • strong knowledge of IFRS, valuation and provisioning methods,
  • advanced skills in analysis, reporting and technical note drafting,
  • proficiency in SAP and excellent communication skills,
  • fluency in English or French, and a working level of the other.

ACCA certification and IPSAS familiarity are strong assets.
