Inserm is the only French public organization entirely dedicated to biological, medical and population health research. It has research laboratories throughout France, grouped into 12 Regional Delegations. Our institute brings together 15,000 researchers, engineers, technicians and administrative staff, with a common goal: to improve the health of all through advances in knowledge about living organisms and diseases, innovation in treatments and public health research.
Joining Inserm means joining an institute committed to parity and professional equality, diversity and support for its employees with disabilities, from recruitment onwards and throughout their careers. To preserve well-being at work, Inserm pursues an active policy in terms of working conditions, based in particular on a fair balance between personal and professional life.
In 2016, Inserm was awarded the European HR Excellence in Research label and is committed to developing its recruitment and evaluation practices for researchers.
The candidate will be part of the EU Joint Action SHIELD (Strategies for Health Interventions to Eliminate Infection related Cancer) aimed to reduce cancers caused by infections, focusing on human papillomavirus (HPV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), also taking into account how stigma and discrimination act as barriers to timely diagnosis and linkage to care and treatment, but also prevention interventions (including but not limited to vaccination). SHIELD will compare multiple intervention strategies using a disease-specific model to project the impact of the implementation level of those measures on morbidity/mortality and healthcare costs of these diseases in Europe. The post-doc/research engineer will work primarily on evaluating HPV prevention and treatment strategies.
