Our client

Our client is leading global multinational in the packaging industry.

Location

France. The position can be based at any of the multiple sites our client has across France. There is preference for somebody based or willing to commute or to relocate in the area of the Ain Department (Plastics Vallée Area).

Job Description

This is a new created role which will report directly into the Vice President Quality and will have a scope of 8 plants across France, Spain, Italy and Tunisia. The Quality Managers of the plants report directly into the plant managers and dotted‑line into the Regional Quality Director.

This role includes the following main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Quality activities: support the sites in identifying and driving quality‑related activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, participating in major meetings with customers, and handling major claims.
  • Best practice sharing: foster a culture of sharing best practices within the team and across the wider organisation.
  • Implementation of company standards: ensure that quality standards are well understood and consistently implemented.
  • Quality culture: promote a quality‑focused mindset and excellence throughout the organisation.
  • Audits and reporting: conduct internal and external audits and provide consolidated monthly reports on quality performance.
  • Training and assistance: offer training and assistance to quality managers.
  • Key person for Quality Excellence: serve as the key person for quality excellence, measuring performance, maintaining and improving as necessary.
Candidate Profile

We are looking for a candidate with a background in operations in a leadership role, for example as plant manager, operations director, operational excellence director or similar. This background would be complemented with several years of experience in a quality or continuous improvement position.

We are looking for candidates who have experience and solid technical know‑how in the plastics industry for any sector (packaging, automotive, medical, etc.). This would include technologies like injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion and thermoforming.

For this position we expect a fluent English and French level. Any additional languages, like Spanish or Italian, would be a plus.

Availability for travelling on a regular basis across the region (above 50%) is a must for the position.
