Regional Operations Controller
Purpose of the job

Senior member of the Region Finance team, reporting directly to the VP Finance Region. In this role the Regional Operations Controller will manage all financial aspects relative to: Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering and Sourcing for all product lines (Rolling stock, DIS, Service)

Key accountabilities
  • Leading cost excellence through: Productivity, LCC, Make vs Buy
  • Process owner: Hourly Rates, CAPEX, Sourcing Savings, Restructuring,
  • Cash optimization of: Inventory, CAPEX, Vendor payment terms
  • Pushes Productivity, Cost per unit & Cash Focus HQ initiatives down to the countries & sites
  • Escalate country / site simplification ideas & improvement suggestions back to VP Finance Region
  • Act as the privileged finance partner to the Regional Operations team
  • Support to workload balance decisions between units, with sizing of SOH level

  • Overseeing operational performance of 40 sites, 23,000 employees, 32M annual Hours , 2 B€ POH
Performance measurements
  • Operations efficiency KPIs such as costs per unit, productive hours, Spent time vs Method time, U/O …
  • Production Overhead
  • Make or Buy, Engineering Sub-Contracting
  • Working capital : Inventory value & weeks of coverage, Payables through optimisation of terms of payment
  • Capex
  • Restructuring
Educational requirements

Mandatory:

  • Master Degree level in Finance or Engineering in Operations, Industrial, Supply Chain
  • 10 years minimum of experience in an industrial environment in Operations or Finance (see below)
  • Fluent in English
Experience

Mandatory:

  • Previous roles in operating units held as either Finance or Manufacturing/ Supply Chain/Sourcing
  • Past exposure to Productivity measurement, Inventory, Capital Expenditures, Long term projects
Competencies & Skills
  • Good knowledge of Business and Financial Indicators.
  • Previous business partnering experience working with operations.
  • Good capacity of analysis and synthesis. Be able to take an overall view in making decision
  • Solution oriented, be able to take decision and solve problems quickly
  • Good interpersonal skills / Team worker / Leadership
  • Ability to Work in an International Environment
  • Very good Communication Skills needed with team and with many actors in the organization
