Job title: Regional Customs and Export Control Compliance Manager (m/f/x)

Responsibilities
  • Leading and managing the Regional Customs and Export Control Compliance function, including supervising compliance specialists and ensuring continuous professional development
  • Ensuring full deployment of Group policies and procedures on customs and export control within the Region, updating them as regulations evolve
  • Monitoring all customs and export processes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, duties, sanctions regimes, and company standards, and communicating outcomes to staff and senior management
  • Overseeing risk assessments, internal reviews, and audits; ensuring timely remediation of findings and reporting on compliance risks to senior management
  • Supervising classification, valuation, and licensing processes, ensuring accurate application of customs and export control requirements
  • Managing export control activities, including sanctions screening, license determination, escalating high-risk cases, and approving requests within delegated authority
  • Acting as the regional escalation point and subject matter expert for customs and export control matters, supporting local teams in their interactions with regulatory authorities and ensuring consistent handling of inspections, audits, and inquiries across the Region
  • Providing expert compliance support to business development and operations, ensuring that new solutions and customer engagements meet legal and regulatory obligations
  • Analyzing and optimizing customs and export processes to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining full compliance
  • Driving a culture of compliance across the Region through training, awareness, and effective communication
Applicant's profile
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or relevant discipline
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in customs, trade compliance, and export control
  • At least 3 years of leadership/people management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations, export controls, and sanctions regimes
  • Holding a customs license or a comparable certification in EU countries is preferred
  • Proven experience in risk assessment, audits, and managing regulatory inspections
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management experience in an international environment
