Job Summary

This position sits within the Equinix Global Design and Construction team (over 250 people) which delivers more than 70 projects globally per year, with a capital spend exceeding $3 Bn.

As a Project Manager, you will oversee and manage the entire datacenter project lifecycle, from initial stages through completion, ensuring high quality, safety, and stakeholder alignment.

Overview

Responsible for all aspects of data center design & construction for the project from inception—through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and hand‑over of an operating facility. Projects may include ground‑up construction, fit‑outs, remodels, etc.

The Project Manager may lead one or more projects or multiple deliverables within a large project, directing all partners—internal teams (Design, Procurement, Operations, Security, IT/Network) and external vendors such as contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, and equipment suppliers.

Lead a safe, quality‑first culture and ensure that all applicable codes, standards, and building practices are followed.

Maintain internal controls at each step of the process through effective contract administration, including generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other relevant documents.

Responsibilities
Management
  • Provide guidance to Construction Project Managers and internal stakeholders driving day‑to‑day delivery.
  • Plan, manage and monitor deliverables for team members, Operations, and customers/end‑users.
Project Management
  • Manage one or more construction projects or multiple deliverables on one large project.
  • Lead by example on safety, standards, and culture.
  • Manage and monitor project progress, quality, and compliance with building regulations.
  • Ensure projects meet or exceed company expectations.
  • Oversee project risk registers.
Vendor Relations
  • Direct external vendors per project, including general contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, and equipment suppliers.
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining high‑value relationships.
Training Programs
  • Identify and develop training programs.
  • Support cross‑functional training.
Contract Administration
  • Manage contract administration procedures, including generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and related documents.
  • Liaise with local authorities and relevant state agencies and departments.
Leadership
  • Direct internal and external project team members, including design, procurement, operations, commercial, and IT/Network support teams.
Policy & Procedure Development
  • Maintain best‑in‑class policies and procedures.
  • Manage project closure, hand‑over, and ensure lessons‑learnt processes are established and implemented.
What we look for
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in construction, construction project management, or engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Site based in Paris Monday to Friday.
  • Proven experience in project and construction management of critical infrastructure for datacenters, pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar environments.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Customer‑focused, self‑motivated, and flexible.
  • In‑depth knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and industry best practices.
  • Experience in construction procurement methodologies.
  • Experience in adopting off‑site manufacturing methods in construction.
  • Proficiency in Primavera, Procore, Smartsheets, MS Office, including MS Project, Excel, and Visio is desirable.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Agile, business‑savvy, collaborative, decisive, and inclusive.
