Description du poste
Who We Are

Wakam is a B2B2C digital insurer building white‑label and embedded insurance solutions for 80+ partners across Europe. Active in 32 countries, we rely on a model where many key processes—underwriting, policy administration, claims and complaints management—are delegated to partners. Because of this, control is a core activity at Wakam, not just a regulatory requirement. We go beyond standard frameworks to ensure that our partners deliver the best possible service to our policyholders and that Wakam is fully in control of the risks and compliance obligations associated with delegated activities.

About the Team

You will join the Partnerships Control team, which plays a critical role for:

  • Our policyholders, by ensuring that partners deliver reliable, high‑quality service.
  • Our regulators in France and across Europe, by demonstrating robust oversight of delegated activities.

The team controls all partners every year, combining:

  • Continuous operational control
  • Technical analysis
  • Targeted testing and reviews

Controls cover internal practices and processes related to the distribution and management of insurance products, risk identification and assessment, and regulatory compliance (e.g. AM, IDD, GDPR).

You will report to the Partnership Control Manager and work closely with operational teams, Compliance, Legal, and external partners.

Your Mission

As a Partnership Auditor, your mission is to assess, challenge, and help improve how our partners manage delegated insurance activities. You will make sure they:

  • Provide a high standard of service to our customers.
  • Operate within a robust risk and compliance framework.
  • Align with Wakam’s expectations, procedures, and regulatory obligations.

You will be involved across the entire control cycle, from preparation to follow‑up.

Your Day‑to‑Day

Reporting to the Partnership Control Manager, you will:

Prepare and Organise Controls
  • Organise controls in line with the annual control plan.
  • Lead the preparation phase: contractual review, data and portfolio analysis, definition of control scope and objectives.
  • Coordinate round‑table meetings with internal stakeholders (Operations, Compliance, Legal, Claims, etc.) to collect risks, expectations, and feedback on the partner.
Conduct Controls (On‑Site or Remote)
  • Perform controls with partners, either on site or remotely.
  • Assess the control and compliance framework (AM, IDD, GDPR, etc.).
  • Test the customer journey end‑to‑end, from distribution to claims and complaints handling.
  • Carry out sample reviews and quality checks on files, processes, and documentation.
Analyse, Recommend and Follow Up
  • Lead the post‑control phase: analyse documentation and evidence collected during the control.
  • Identify issues, weaknesses, and risks (operational, compliance, conduct, reputation, financial).
  • Draft clear findings and recommendations, and define a corrective action plan with the partner.
  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of action plans and ensure the timely closure of issues.
Contribute to Methodology & Continuous Improvement
  • Take an active part in the team’s organisation and framework:
    • Write and update procedures and control methodologies.
    • Suggest improvements to the control framework, tools, and templates.
    • Share best practices and help enhance our group‑wide oversight model.
What You Bring
  • A postgraduate / Master’s degree with a specialization in audit, risk, internal control or insurance.
  • 3‑5 years of successful experience in audit, control, or internal control, ideally in an insurance company, or in a consulting / audit / control firm with insurance clients.
  • Good knowledge of insurance processes (distribution, policy administration, claims, complaints) and associated risks.
  • Strong command of Word and Excel; familiarity with other tools (data analysis, dashboards) is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required; a third European language is a real advantage given our international footprint.
Who You Are
  • You thrive in demanding, fast‑paced environments and know how to adapt quickly.
  • You are recognised for your rigour, autonomy, analytical and synthesis skills, and excellent writing (clear, structured reports).
  • You manage priorities and deadlines effectively, even when dealing with multiple partners and topics.
  • You are comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders, including challenging conversations with partners when needed.
  • You enjoy teamwork and collaboration, and are motivated by collective goals and impact.
AI & Digital Mindset

At Wakam, we are progressively integrating AI and automation into our processes, including control and audit activities. For this role, an appetite for AI and digital tools is a clear plus. You will have opportunities to:

  • Use AI‑powered tools to prepare and structure documentation, analyse data, and draft reports.
  • Contribute ideas on how to digitise and industrialise controls (monitoring, sampling, dashboards, risk mapping).

You don't need to be an AI expert; what we value is your curiosity, openness to change, and willingness to learn.

Hiring Process
  1. Interview with Talent Acquisition Partner
  2. Technical interview with Chief Risk Officer
  3. Final interview with People Partner
