Marketing Lead, France & Southern Europe

Compensation: €70,000 - €90,000 / year

Description

Upway is the leading marketplace for certified refurbished e-bikes, operating across Europe and the US. We buy, refurbish, and resell e-bikes with a rigorous technical process, making sustainable mobility more accessible while delivering a seamless, reliable customer experience.

We are looking for a 360° Marketing Leader to take full ownership of the marketing strategy for France (our historical market) and Southern Europe. You will act as the "CMO" for your region, balancing high‑level brand strategy with hands‑on execution. Reporting directly to the General Manager FRSE, you will drive growth, build brand love, and ensure Upway remains the top‑of‑mind choice for e‑mobility in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the Regional Strategy: You will define and execute the full‑funnel marketing plan for France and Southern Europe. You are responsible for the budget, the channel mix, and the ultimate ROI of your region.
  • Drive Performance & Growth: Work closely with the central performance team to optimise acquisition channels (SEA, Social, SEO). You will continuously test new local levers (partnerships, influencers, offline activations) to lower CAC and increase volume.
  • Build the Brand Locally: You will adapt Upway’s global voice to the local nuances of the French, Italian, and Spanish markets. You will manage PR, content, and brand activations to build trust and authority in the refurbished sector.
  • 360° Execution: You are strategic but operational. One day you might be planning the Q3 budget, and the next you are setting up a local partnership or reviewing ad creatives.
  • Lead & Collaborate: You will manage local Marketing Managers and eventual freelancers while collaborating daily with the central Strategy & Performance Growth teams to ensure alignment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Experience:7-10+ years in Marketing, ideally in a D2C, E‑commerce, or Marketplace scale‑up. You have seen what "good" looks like in a high‑growth environment.
  • T-Shaped Marketer: You are comfortable looking at a spreadsheet to analyze ROAS, but you also have the creative eye to sign off on a brand campaign.
  • Builder Mindset: You don't need a massive team to get things done. You are resourceful, hands‑on, and thrive in an environment where you build the plane while flying it.
  • Business Acumen: You understand that marketing exists to drive revenue. You are data‑driven and hold yourself accountable to business metrics.
  • Languages: Native French is required. Professional proficiency in English is a must. Italian or Spanish is a plus.
