A FinTech startup is looking for a passionate Scala Engineer to help build scalable infrastructure for digital cash transactions. You will write server-side code, collaborate with mentors, and enhance your programming skills. Qualifications

• Fresh knowledge of at least one JVM-based language (Java, Scala, Kotlin) is expected.
• Some experience with Kafka and CQRS/Event Sourcing is a plus.
• Experience in the finance industry is an advantage.

What you might be doing:

• Write server‑side Scala code to build a scalable infrastructure capable of handling digital cash and crypto‑currency transactions for users all around the world
• Expand your functional and reactive programming skills by being mentored by Scala experts
• Share your freshly acquired knowledge with other engineers through internal and external technical presentations
• Sharpen your event‑based microservices architecture skills
• Develop and grow as an engineer who is recognised for their key contributions

What you might bring:

• Fresh knowledge of at least one JVM‑based language (Java, Scala, Kotlin, …) and a basic understanding of functional programming concepts. Scala is not a requirement but a willingness to learn it is expected
• Some exposure to JVM technologies and RDBMS appreciated
• Some experience with Kafka and CQRS/Event Sourcing architectures would be the cherry on the cake
• We are looking for curious engineers with a strong sense of ownership and entrepreneurial thinking
• Flexible, proactive, organized, detail‑oriented attitude
• Able to communicate in English easily
• Experience in the finance industry is a plus
