Reporting to the Europe Industry Director, the Industry Europe Project Director is responsible for the performance guarantee of entrusted industrial projects in Europe (Pre-design agreements, Design review agreements, Design & build contracts). He/she oversees design development after contract signing and monitors the proper execution of design through to the construction phase. As a project leader, the Industry Europe Project Director plays a key role in maintaining customer relationships, particularly through leading change management, and coordinates the international project design team. The role may also include managing M&E packages during construction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Bidding phase :
- Collaborates with the Industry Europe Design Director.
- May temporarily replace the Industry Europe Design Director during this phase and work closely with the business development team on sales offers.
Design phase :
- Works closely with the Industry Europe Design Director.
- Contributes to developing and maintaining customer relationships; acts as a key client contact.
- Utilizes the supply chain effectively.
- Ensures production of all necessary offer deliverables (e.g., technical memorandum, design optimization proposals, detailed schedule, method statement, lump sum cost breakdown).
- Manages all internal and external resources involved in design.
- Conducts technical design and estimation, collaborating with the business development and project teams from kickoff to contract signing.
- Optimizes building design and technical solutions.
- Responsible for the design performance guarantee.
Construction phase :
- Collaborates with the local project team during construction.
- Responsible for the performance guarantee.
- Participates in monthly steering committees.
- Leads change management processes.
- Provides technical support to the construction team.
- Ensures work progress aligns with design specifications.
- Maintains customer relationships and remains the client's key contact.
- Ensures client satisfaction throughout project progress.
- May temporarily substitute or replace the local Project Director if needed.
Management of M&E :
- Depending on the profile and project needs, additional M&E responsibilities may be assigned.
- Part of the local project team on-site.
- Responsible for M&E packages, including procurement.
- Approves subcontractor designs for these packages.
- Supervises progress of M&E work.
- Guarantees M&E performance.
