The Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) is the main funder of research activities in Luxembourg. We also support and coordinate activities to strengthen the link between science and society and to raise awareness for research. Our main activities in this domain are TAKE OFF, science.lu, Mr Science, Science Festival, Researchers’ Days, PSP, etc. We are very well connected to government and national stakeholders, to the private sector, and to international partners. If you share our excitement about what’s coming next in research, innovation and science communication, the FNR is the place for you.

  • writing, creating, posting, promoting, editing and commissioning carousels, videos, infographics, teasers, posts, campaigns etc. for the science.lu social media accounts (so far TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube…) in 4 languages (LU, FR, DE, ENG) about scientific topics or scientific events of interest for the general public.
  • helping to organise and promote events for the general public (e.g. Researchers Days, Researchers at School, Scicom Lux).
  • helping to run the webpage science.lu (plan and schedule articles, integrate them into the CMS, send out newsletters, and promote the content).
  • helping out with other activities of the FNR’s Science in Society team (e.g. workshops, organisation of training and some administrative support).

The position demands a high level of organisational and team player abilities, strong writing, communication and language skills, and a high level of autonomy.

YOUR PROFILE
  • You have a Master’s degree (bac +4) in Science (Natural Sciences, Social Sciences or Humanities) or in Science Communication or Science Journalism.
  • You are highly skilled in and passionate about promoting science to diverse audiences, via social media, media and events, and you know how to effectively communicate with young and diverse audiences.
  • You are very well organised, rigorous and autonomous. You have a sense of initiative and responsibility, and you are, above all, a team player.
  • You have strong writing skills in French, German and Luxembourgish, and you have an understanding of English.
  • You are creative and can propose ideas on how to promote science to lay audiences by reacting to trends and latest developments.
  • Skills in using video editing tools and basics in graphic design (for example, Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator, etc.) are considered an advantage.
OUR OFFER
  • The opportunity to work in a dynamic and highly creative team and environment;
  • The opportunity to connect science and society, and to inspire lay audiences for science;
  • The possibility to work at the heart of Luxembourg’s young and dynamic research ecosystem, and to network with a variety of stakeholders;

  • A compensation commensurate with your experience and diploma;
  • A high level of autonomy and flexible working hours;
  • Career development opportunities.
