A leading independent media and distribution business in the German-speaking market is looking for a Finance Director to lead the finance function of their German-based division.

This division was formed through the merger of multiple established media businesses. They manage an extensive, growing library of premium content rights and are on a mission to connect exceptional stories with audiences across German-speaking Europe.

The Role

• Lead divisional budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance.
• Provide commercial insight to support growth, content investment, and partnerships.
• Oversee divisional reporting, ensuring IFRS compliance and alignment with group requirements.
• Drive post-acquisition integration of processes, systems, and controls.
• Manage tax, VAT, and cross-border financial matters.
• Act as a senior finance business partner to operational and commercial teams.
• Build and lead a high-performing divisional finance team.

Required

• Qualified accountant (or equivalent experience).
• Senior finance leadership experience in an international or fast-growing business.
• Strong IFRS, reporting, and audit knowledge.
• Understanding of tax, VAT, and cross-border finance.
• Fluent French, German and English.
• Hands-on, commercially minded, comfortable in a post-acquisition environment.
• Willing to travel internationally (role is mainly Paris-based).
