Qualifications

  • Practical experience of at least 2 years in a chemical field and/or chemical laboratory.
  • Verification of good code of practice for users of the laboratories.
  • Experience in drafting procedures and rules.

Context & Job description

Within the Safety Group, you will be in charge of dealing with different safety matters related to the experimental programme carried out at the ESRF.

  • Ensure the safety follow-up in chemistry, biochemistry and biology laboratories and beamlines, in particular: Verification of good code of practice for users of the laboratories.
  • Updating of safety data sheets.
  • Distribution and verification of protective equipment, safety labeling, instructions.
  • Administrative support in the preparation, organisation of the start-up of experiments carried out at the ESRF.
  • Organisational support for periodic inventory, inspection of pressure regulators and chemical products.
  • Purchasing of chemicals and toxic substances.
  • Drafting of procedures and rules.
Expected profile
  • Technical / Academic degree (BTS, DUT, Bachelor or equivalent diploma worth at least 120 ECTS) in the field of chemistry.
  • Practical experience of at least 2 years in a chemical field and / or chemical laboratory.
  • Good knowledge of relevant French and European Health and Safety legislation concerning chemicals and hazardous substances.
  • Intermediate English level (working language at the ESRF).
  • Good written communication skills.
Working conditions

The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
