Wakam

Wakam is an insurer that designs tailor‑made white‑label insurance solutions for distribution partners, insurance professionals (brokers & insurtechs) and non‑insurance professionals (platforms, retailers). It also specialises in next‑generation “embedded” insurance solutions using its Play & Plug platform, operating in 32 European countries with €650 million turnover in 2022.

Mission

As an insurer, Wakam partners with merchants that sell insurance products but are not insurers. Your role will manage the data flows that allow these partners to provide coverage under Wakam’s umbrella.

Responsibilities

• Discuss with partner merchants to implement data flows between the broker and Wakam
• Collaborate with partner teams to ensure partnership data is supplied to business and technical teams
• Manage your own portfolio of partnerships
• Interact closely with Wakam Business teams to understand product and data needs to enable full and safe insurance provision
• Provide data advice and requirements to partners based on product specifics and Wakam’s data needs
• Work iteratively with partners to engineer data flows in our Git repository (requires Python and SQL skills)
• Report on data implementation progress via dedicated tools, presenting to Data Office and Business committees
• Contribute to internal transverse technical and business projects and continuously improve internal processes
• Monitor monthly data integration with 150+ partners, ensuring flawless execution
• Serve as key contact for internal clients (Technical Reserving and Profitability Department, Reinsurance, Accounting, Compliance) and partners on data topics
• Handle requests (incidents, evolution requests, assistance) in compliance with SLA and insurance standards
• Analyse, follow up, and resolve complex data problems escalated to various departments
• Communicate regularly in writing and verbally on action plans and request progress
• Commit to the Git repository any necessary changes and code in Python as needed

Candidate Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering with 2–5 years experience in data management, data consulting, data analytics, or analytics engineering
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication skills in English and French
• Expertise in SQL for analytics
• Proficiency in Python (a plus)
• Experience with at least two of the following technologies: Azure, Snowflake, DBT, Databricks, Power BI
• Insurance knowledge is a plus
