A deep-tech startup in Palaiseau is seeking a Co-Founder with expertise in laser–materials interaction and materials physics. The role involves leading materials and process development, optimizing laser interactions, and collaborating with team members to advance innovative 3D printing technology. The ideal candidate has a PhD in a relevant field and an entrepreneurial mindset. Equity in the startup is offered, along with a leadership position in a pioneering project.

Qualifications

  • PhD required in a relevant field.

LPRINT is a French deep-tech start-up, supported byINRIA, X-Up (École Polytechnique). We are developing aninnovative 3D printer for the additive manufacturing of industrial-grade multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Our system enableshigh-precision, multi-material printingof conductive and dielectric materials — bridging the gap between laser processing, materials science, and electronics fabrication.

We are looking for aCo-Founderwith deep expertise inlaser–materials interactionandmaterials physicsto join the founding team and help bring this breakthrough process from lab to prototype and beyond.

Your Role

You will lead the materials and process development side of the technology:

  • Study and optimizelaser–matter interaction mechanisms for materials;
  • Develop and characterize functional materials suitable for our method printing (conductive, dielectric);
  • Define and refine process parameters;
  • Collaborate closely with the optics / electronics co-founder to integrate process insights into the printing system;
  • Contribute to the design of experiments (DoE)and prototype validation cycles;
  • Support IP development, publications, and potential industrial collaborations.
  • Coordinate collaboration with chemical partners, labs, and universities.
Required Qualifications
  • PhD inMaterials Science, Applied Physics, Laser Processing, or Physical Chemistry;
  • Hands-on experience withpulsed lasers (ns/ps/fs) as a plus;
  • Previous work inprinted electronics as a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in building a deep-tech startup in theÎle-de-Franceecosystem.
