Overview

Our Innovation & Technology is a global organization within Schneider, aiming at providing deep technical expertise to the different Lines of Business. Within this organization, the Electronics Center of Excellence (CoE) brings added-value to Schneider overall through expertise in connectivity, IoT, ASIC design, microcontroller and microprocessor selection… providing insights, guidance and driving platforming initiatives.

We are currently reinforcing our China Electronics CoE and are looking for a senior electronics architect.

Location: Shanghai, China. You will start your contract in France (Grenoble) for 6 months to acculturate with the Schneider electronics ecosystem, then relocate to Shanghai for a 3–4 year period and thereafter relocate back to Schneider France.

In Shanghai, you will join a team of 3 electronics experts.

Your role

You will bring technical expertise in one of the following domains: Power Electronics or Embedded Processing (microcontrollers and microprocessors).

You will manage relationships with suppliers, select the relevant architectures for design projects and foster collaboration between global CoE experts and Chinese design teams.

Responsibilities
  • Architecture Leadership
    • Lead cross‑functional teams to challenge and refine existing electronics architectures.
    • Mentor junior engineers from divisions and internal stakeholders on architectural best practices.
    • Drive a platforming approach to optimize solutions across the divisions.
  • Component Collaboration
    • Manage relationships with suppliers.
    • For Power Electronics: engage directly with local manufacturers to evaluate component performance, cost, and sustainability.
    • For Embedded processing (MCU/MPU): collaborate with suppliers to optimize hardware/software integration and address technical constraints.
    • Understand the local electronic market trends and build the right relationships with local suppliers and ecosystem partners.
    • Understand the solutions and moves of our competitors.
  • Global CoE and Local CoE team collaboration
    • Understand the global Schneider strategy around Power Electronics / Embedded processing and partner with global experts.
    • Structure a clear pathway to localize this strategy into concrete actions within the China design teams.
    • Contribute to the global roadmap by bringing innovation from the local market.
    • Work with the Technology Standardization Management (component selection) team and purchasing teams to have an up‑to‑the‑mark standard.
    • Build the right technological action plan and partnership with start‑ups and universities.
Profile
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electronics, Microelectronics, Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years in electronics design/electronics project management, with 3+ years in an architectural role.
  • Strong experience in challenging legacy architectures and driving change.
  • Fostering collaboration between global and local teams.
Skills
  • Advanced English fluency (C1).
  • Deep knowledge of Power Electronics (power converter topologies, thermal management, EMI/EMC design) and/or Embedded processing (MCU/MPU).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical and non‑technical stakeholders on adoption of technologies/methodologies.
  • Good ability to influence electronic technical roadmaps through compelling stakeholder alignment.
  • Passion for innovation and sustainability in electronics design.
  • Nice‑to‑have: Chinese Mandarin proficiency, proficiency in tools like SPICE, MATLAB and simulation.
