A municipal government agency in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur is seeking a Chief Engineering & Construction Inspector. The prevailing salary for this position as established by Ordinance of the Council of the City of Cleveland is $32.18 - $34.18 per hour.
EXPERIENCE EVALUATION: An experience evaluation consists of a quantitative evaluation of an Applicant’s academic training and experience pertinent to the classification for which an examination is taken, based on the statement of experience as recorded on the candidate’s application and on academic training based on required credentials.
Under general supervision of a professional engineer, is responsible for scheduling and checking work of the Engineering and Construction Inspectors; requires knowledge of sewer, paving, water main, curbing, sidewalk, and miscellaneous items performed under contracts initiated by the Division of Engineering and Construction. Gives administrative supervision, trains Inspectors and assists the Engineer of Construction in day-to-day duties. Performs other job-related duties as required.
High School Diploma or GED required. Ten years of full-time paid field experience in inspecting progressively larger civil engineering projects (five years on projects of at least $2 million) required (Substitution: A Construction Technician Certification may substitute for two years of experience lacking). In addition, a minimum of three years of experience in managing construction projects, supervising field inspectors, scheduling, resolving construction disputes, and cost estimating required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required. Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License required.

Veterans' preference will be awarded, when applicable, to eligible veterans in accordance with Civil Service Rules 4.40E, 4.40F and 4.40G. Proof of active service or a DD Form 214, must be presented to the Commission at the time of filing application for the examination in which credit is sought in order to qualify for veterans' credit. If the applicant has received an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions that applicant shall receive an additional five (5) points added to their raw score on the examination; or ten (10) points are added to their raw score on the examination if applicant’s supporting documentation indicates more than fifteen percent (15%) service connected disability.
NOTE: Only DD Form 214 (long form) or an official armed service document indicating type of discharge or separation and the dates of active service will be accepted as proof of active service.
